The Doubs Substation located in Point of Rocks, Maryland needed a generator to back up two utility sources of controls and gear for a major sub station in the metro region for 1st Energy power. Western Branch Diesel was there to help with the turnkey installation of a new 600kW 480V MTU Onsite Energy 1600 Series generator.
Team WBD also supervised the construction of a 16′ x 24′ building that would house the massive MTU gen set while routing the exhaust to a roof mounted muffler and integrating a 1000 gallon fuel tank. While Team WBD oversaw the construction of the building and installation of the MTU generator and switch gear, several other companies were on-site to handle the other tasks that helped complete this project in a timely fashion.
